The Law on the Restoration of Standard Terms for Performing Actions Related to the Protection of IP Rights entered into force on May 31, 2025 in Ukraine

This law provides for:

·       the restoration of standard terms for performing actions related to the protection of intellectual property rights, procedures for acquiring these rights and payment of relevant fees;

·       establishing a transitional period: after the Law enters into force, the terms are extended taking into account the time that elapsed before their suspension, but not less than 75 days.

·       annual fees for maintaining the validity of intellectual property rights for inventions, utility models, industrial designs and plant varieties, the payment term of which has come and which have not been paid by the date of entry into force of the Law (until May 31, 2025), will be considered paid on time if they are paid within 75 days from the date of entry into force of the Law;

·       The fee for extending the validity period of a Ukrainian trademark certificate, the payment deadline of which has arrived and which has not been paid by the date of entry into force of the Law (until May 31, 2025), will be considered paid on time if it is paid within 75 days from the date of entry into force of the Law.
